Gloodood Industries claims its trap is humane. Historically kangaroos were simply shot or trapped with far crueler methods, such as bear traps. The glue trap keeps the kangaroo safe and uninjured, allowing the owner the opportunity to move the kangaroo elsewhere. Certain humane groups have disagreed, stating that farmers often leave the kangaroos glued in their traps for days, making for a slow, painful death as the kangaroo starves. Gloodood Industries responded to these complaints stating that anyone who does this is abusing the product. Furthermore, Gloodood Industries has stated that the traps, while holding kangaroos down very strongly, are eventually escapeable as with enough effort, a kangaroo can free itself after a few hours. They've cited tests done on student interns in its quality assurance department, who they believe share similar strength and build to kangaroos.
Safety and Handling
Kangaroo Glue Traps can snare humans just as well as kangaroos, so special care should be taken to handle them. Glue traps should be placed in areas that are populated by kangaroos and not people or pets. If they must be placed where humans may stumble into them, signs should be posted indicating where they are and how to avoid them. If one gets stuck, glue remover is available. Alternatively, those who work often near traps should wear protective clothing, allowing them to rip themselves out if needed. The glue is non-toxic, however its stickiness can cause some irritation on hair and skin if pulled. Keep traps away from pets and children.
Variations
There was leaked information regarding a new type of trap consisting of an extremely sticky adhesive. Reports showed that the target audience was for security at top secret locations such as military bases. According to sources, the glue is impossible to remove from skin and it is designed for cases where if a victim is trapped they are mired with the intention of never getting out. Advocacy groups stated that if this is true, they consider it deeply concerning and have advised Gloodood Industries to halt development of this product, as it may cause cruel and unusual punishment to trespassers or even authorized but clumsy workers. Gloodood Industries had responded by denying the rumors, but also stating that the person responsible for the leak has been detained.
Another variation that has been rumored is a glue whose consistency gradually hardens to a solid rubbery material, permanently encasing its victim. According to sources, the trapped animal is easier to handle, as by the time it has fully cured, the stickiness of the glue is gone, but the animal is effectively cemented into place, allowing one to simply cut them out with tools when they wish to humanely free it.
